How We Clean

We thought you might find it helpful to have an outline of the tasks we will be performing every time we clean your home. Of course, we will be customizing this list based on your needs – but this gives you a baseline to start from! This is not intended as an all-inclusive list – just a general idea of what we focus on.

BATHROOMS

• The entire tub/shower enclosure is cleaned and sanitized, including shower doors and their tracks.
• The toilet is cleaned and sanitized inside and out – we also hand wipe around the base of the toilet and check the walls for splash marks.
• The sink, counter, mirror area is cleaned and the glass and chrome surfaces are shined as well. Soap dishes and cups are washed.
• Baseboards are hand wiped and bathroom floors are mopped.
• NOTE: We do not carry or handle any bleach-based products (example: Tilex). If you notice the beginnings of mold or mildew, please spray the affected area in the morning of your cleaning and we will do the cleanup.

KITCHEN

• All surfaces are cleaned (outside of appliances).
• Cabinet exteriors are wiped down.
• Burners are removed from the stove and drip pans are soaked and cleaned (as needed).
• The inside of the microwave is wiped out.
• Trash is pulled and fresh bags installed in cans.
• The countertop, as well as everything on it, is cleaned.
• Chrome is polished.
• The handles of the refrigerator are wiped down.
• The floor is vacuumed and mopped.​

​DUSTING AND VACUUMING

• An extendable duster is used to remove cobwebs from ceilings, corners, exposed baseboards, ceiling fan blades and other high areas.
• Anything not reachable by hand without climbing will be cleaned with our extendable duster.
• Furniture is dusted all the way to the floor.
• Glass tables and mirrors are cleaned with vinegar and water.
• The base of Plasma/LED TVs are dusted with a soft cloth – we do not touch the screen.
• Upholstered furniture is vacuumed.
• Woodwork (window sills, chair rail, six-panel doors, etc.) is dusted.
• Small items are picked up to dust; we do not just dust around them.
• Carpeted floors are vacuumed.
• Hardwood floors are first vacuumed and then mopped as needed (using vinegar and water or dawn dish soap and water unless the owner provides a different product).
• If you have sliding glass doors, we wash them with vinegar and water, up to two sets (inside only) each visit – and we check other door glass to remove hand and animal prints.
• We empty wastebaskets, but we do not deal with human or animal waste. Litter boxes and diaper pails are not done.
• If you would like us to change bed linen, just leave fresh linen out in each room and we will strip the bed and remake it.
